Ficksburg, Eastern Free State, South Africa

Ficksburg, proclaimed in 1867 is situated along the Highlands Route in the Eastern Free State. Ficksburg has some very interesting history, dating back to the San (Bushman), the black people, the Voortrekkers and the European settlers.

Today Ficksburg is still the agricultural gem it has always been, and its the gateway to Lesotho. Nestled at the foot of the Imperani Mountain and along the banks of the Caledon River, Ficksburg has stunning views with the Malutis as a backdrop. Summer has delicious weather while winter has beautifully snow-covered mountains.
